Live Updates on NEET UG 2024: Congress Plans Nationwide Protest and Supreme Court Orders Retest

To escalate their protest against the BJP-led NDA government over alleged NEET irregularities, the Congress has announced a nationwide protest on Friday, June 21, demanding justice for NEET candidates.

On Tuesday, the Supreme Court ordered the National Testing Agency (NTA) to take responsibility for any negligence in conducting the NEET UG 2024. Additionally, the NTA has informed the Ministry of Education that, based on an analysis of their marks, examinees from Patna and Godhra, who are under scrutiny for benefiting from alleged irregularities, do not appear to have gained any unusual advantage.

Moreover, the Supreme Court has instructed the NTA to conduct a retest for 1,563 candidates who were affected by the loss of exam time. The new admit cards for the NEET UG 2024 retest will be sent directly to the affected students via their registered email addresses.

For the second consecutive day, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is continuing its protest against the alleged NEET paper leak. The party claimed, “Students paid Rs 30 to 50 lakh to appear for the NEET exam paper. In Godhra, Gujarat, students were instructed to leave the OMR sheet blank, and later, teachers filled it in. The central government is aware of this matter and is trying to cover up the scam. The Central Government should conduct a thorough investigation under the supervision of the Supreme Court,” they alleged on June 18.
